FLOATING MARKET. ( DAMNOEN SADUAK )

Just for the experience, we tried a middle sized boat with a front arched upwards. It cruised around the floating market area and its periphery. The ride begun in a densely occupied floating market where navigating inch by inch was quite slow. The river was an overcrowded one. Boats pushed each other to gain a little space forward. The further we advanced, the squeeze was getting loose and the travel getting faster. Acceleration of speed was unzipped. This was a foray of sights caught and got loose in the middle of stupefying river traffic. We changed boat, a low and flat one when we strolled the floating market in a relaxed reduced speed.

THE ELEPHANT SHOW.

It started with the Elephants Parade and their introduction to the visitors. It showed mainly the animals’ loyalty and obedience to their masters. As the show unfurled a clip of Thailand’s history with the elephants as the main actors, I can’t help but wonder how helpful they were to man’s needs. Their importance was of prominence when the Thais won their battle with the aid of the elephants in crushing the enemy.

As a spectator of the show, I enjoyed their performances but, do the elephants enjoyed their acts? The organizer of the show called it a success but we don’t know what’s behind the training methods introduced to the animals. I have read about some concerns of some animal lovers about the well-being of elephants after they reached the age of retiring. Also, there are some circus owners planning to stop elephants as circus animals.

The show was a success as it ended with the audience clapping their hands with smiles on their faces.

This temple is one of the most important temples in Thailand. It is also the spiritual core of Thai Buddhism and monarchy and the country’s most holy image.

On May 6, 1782, marked the construction of the Grand Palace by King Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke (King Rama 1) which ruled Bangkok at that time.

In 1785, he constructed Wat Phra Kaew Temple inside the palace’s grounds and transferred the capital from Thonburi to Bangkok.

    1. Thanks a lot for the comment. Me, too was scared watching the Cobra show and was shouting and rooting for the squirrel-cobra fight……(not sure if it was a squirrel or skunk. )…… Stay safe.
