Zero.

_____________

It’s been an hour
sitting on a chair
doing nothing.
I have cheered myself up
by making funny faces
in front of the mirror
but nothing has changed.

I remained dumb
and looking stupid
beside an electric fan
which looked more stupid than me
’cause it won’t work
even when my fingers
have hardly pressed its knob.

Though how much force
I pressed my pen on my paper
nothing has entered my mind
to start a sentence.
Zero.

So I made some deliberation
trying to exploit the limits
how far it can go
back to another time
of my childhood days.
But it went kaput.

You, Mirror

everyday i see you hanging on the wall
like the eyes of night guarding moments at the hall
being a spectator in my daily life
you didn’t seem to mind
in the spell of silence, radiating fright

got scared when i passed by you last night
bright stroke of light came in from outside
i felt the quivers of my bones
as my mind deciphered impending overtones

it might be an illusion
when the ghost suddenly appeared
i heard myself screaming

as i saw myself with a different face
but i took time looking at you
i realized the ghost was me
scaring myself out of a mirror
faked by the moment into a horror

sometimes our lives may get into tears
as we cower ourselves with some fears
we can’t be weak in every scene
strength is derived from faith and felt from within
