it might be, you were not aware
when you were young, you were under my care
i fed you when you were thirsty and hungry
the available meats, chicken and turkey

i remember how your growl rumbled
and i felt so afraid
your eyes met mine like a spear
piercing the deepest part of my fear

reminiscing, how sharp your fangs were
i really felt very scared
the first time you bragged about those teeth
i felt i'm already dead

through the shivering fears
i've seen you grabbed and attacked your prey
biting those cuts and deep-rooted wounds
i was a witness on how you slayed

now we've met again after so many years
your presence i missed, made me shed some tears
memories of you being ferocious in the wild
made me wonder how gentle you were, when you hug me
like a child

i wish we could be together, even for a short time
so we could play again i missed to act in mime
kindness and love i have shown you then
i say, goodbye for now, 'till we meet again

Photography #26 – Look, they have found their home !

by : Bacardi Gold

This is our old TV console which we already disposed and stopped using. We didn’t realize that this could be of use for these felines. I think my father bought this in 1960’s. It was in black and white. This was our first TV and the first in our community. The neighbors’ children used to watch with us in our favorite shows.

I don’t know why the insides of this console, the TV per se, wasn’t here anymore. It might be one of my brothers remove the TV and sold it. We transferred this at the back of the house and it’s been wet there by rains and dried by the sun. It’s good for the stray cats, they have found their modest home.

Look, they are good and exceptional models !

Just sit in front … and strike

Today is a sunny day. The sky is clear. The wind is moderately silent and I’m here hanging in front of my laptop to strike some keys and to finish something, the outcome I still don’t know.

Some birds tweet tweet, and hover above making some aerial acrobatics from tree to tree then swooping into my window grills and back to the trees. The yellowish leaves, the brownish and a touch of green ones are drifting a ride and aiming first place to hit the finish line on the ground. The sun is hitting the plants outside the window to complete the photosynthesis process.

Oh, a brown butterfly just passed by.

The spirit of the afternoon seems to be posturing on the hotter mode. It’s beginning to hit the window pane and if it happens I’ll drop the curtains to block the searing sunlight. From time to time the wind is making a reserved blow among the crowns of trees just enough strength not to blast away those resting birds on the branches.

Dogs are barking outside. I can hear them. They bark too loud not minding the annoying uproar of hatred they show on the stray cats roaming around the vicinity of neighboring homes. They don’t realize that barking loudly too often is a disturbance next door. More often than not, those dogs blares too loud in the middle of the night at the onset of woolgathering, and it’s irritating us all. Notwithstanding, we have three lovely dogs guarding our house. Maya is so sweet and she understands what we are telling her, specially her do’s and don’ts.

Those fighting cocks, I know these cocks crow in the morning. They are supposed to be the holder of the habit given by God to wake us up when the sun rises. But why are they crowing at noon time where everybody are bound to have an afternoon nap. Don’t they have their right time to strut around and crow their hearts out ?

Motorcycles on the vrrroommm, vrrroommm from a distance, so loud it could break my eardrums. Alarming sounds of cars and trucks passing by the intersection of the highway is driving us jittery. An outgrowth of the widened roads, vehicles travelling to and from the city are driving carelessly mad because of the expanded width of the road where buses are ,likewise, on the jet mode.

Have you experience those small disruption of peace in your vicinity? Did it inconvenienced you and the neighbors?

Stray…

The other day, the morning was a little bit sunny with less clouds and fairly windy. It was a quiet ordinary day. I could smell the fragrance of the dayspring. But then, it became moldy and pungent. Then, stale as if something has been stagnant for days. As the air indoors was being invaded by a stream of murderous air, our noses were filled and suffused by the notorious smell permeating inside. Something was really wrong.

We searched every corner of the house. Under the tables, inside the cabinets and cupboards, under the seats in the living room, and everywhere that’s hidden. We found nothing. As we stepped outside the kitchen, the nasty smell became stronger making our tummy ran wild and mixed-up. We snoop around and followed the smell where it was strongest. And it led us underneath the house. We turned on the flashlight. As we moved it sideways, the light hit our subject, a hairy, browny colored animal. It’s lifeless. It’s a cat !

That was the feline that strayed to us years ago. There were two of them. The other is a little bit fatter than her. She was so thin when we last saw her.

Taking care of them was rewarding. They already killed two rats invading our privacy at night. In the morning they ran after those would-be-thieves of our dried fish and other viands in the kitchen. In return, we feed them. We gave them our left over foods. But sometimes we cook for them. Their favorite food is fish cooked in vinegar, salt, and other spices. Sometimes, we feed them raw fish.

They shared the same food bowl. When they eat together, she was always outpaced by the other cat. Faster than her eating style, it was always a no-win battle for her. The best parts of the food is consumed by the other cat while she settles for the left-over of the remaining food.

We couldn’t retrieve the dead body because it stink so strong. We couldn’t go near it. We just covered it thickly with soil after we have sprayed disinfectant to kill the bacteria and viruses that grew and appeared on the corpse.

Now, Tweety is in solitary emptiness. Sometimes I caught her staring at me with lonely eyes looking blankly on top of the washing machine. When Meng was alive, the two of them would meow, meow in grateful unison to greet me whenever I open the kitchen door. It’s their waiting place for their ration. Several times I could catch them playing with their food bowl and running one after the other.

Tweety is lonely now and I have observed that she’s sad at this moment. I will miss Meng’s enthusiastic meow, meow. This time Tweety will meow, meow alone.

friends

by : Bacardi Gold
20/july/2020

I have few friends. Befriending anyone demands my feel. A feeling of lightness towards a person may lead to consider opening up a conversation. Physical appearance is insignificant. Through a conversation, my first impression could be partially based and I could gamble for a second plunge.

This is how friend is defined by the dictionary. I took only three significant definitions. I thought that using pictures will further boost what the dictionary says.

It is a noun.

1.a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard.

2.a person who gives assistance; patronsupporter

Almost there...give me one more push... #HappyAlert via @Happy Hippo Billy

3.a person who is on good terms with another; a person who is not hostile:Who goes there? Friend or foe?

It's beautiful, this time of day... dhm

It is a verb (used with object).

Rare. to befriend.

to add (a person) to one’s list of contacts on a social media website:

Absolute love

An idiomatic expression of friend.

  1. make friends with, to enter into friendly relations with; become a friend to.

There are many sub-topics about friends that could be discussed. Idioms, quotes, quotations, sayings, poems, and songs could be written about. Its significance could not be ruled out in our everyday undertakings. Its meaning could be put to practice. We could find friends anywhere. And enemies, too. But who needs one. I prefer trustworthy friends rather than bitter enemies. The world would be peaceful with friends. Count on me and let’s make this universe happy.

Friends could be an animal or nature. It doesn’t always mean to be humans. Even beasts could become a sweet friend. In some instances wild animals could be domesticated and eventually adopt our ways and behavior and become our dearest friend.

This is all for now. Be a friend to everybody. It’s worth to be one.
