______________

I Was Alone sitting on a chair
held my head up I recited a prayer
and in a minute I remember an affair
saddened heart, I seemed drowning in the air

I remember you in that moment
smiles and laughter and a few arguments
at the brink of crying I kept myself silent
sweet promises were gone, a forbidden sacrament

I felt as if a knife was cutting up my heart
bleeding profusely and slicing it apart
yesterday’s hurt has triggered me to restart
a new leaf, a new story, a change of heart

I Am Alone, please lend me Your helping hand
I’m in a storm, give me strength to withstand
lighting this candle makes this cramped space wide
and escape from midnight where I nervously hide
