A Stranger for a while

this is not the right time
to ask me how i feel
yesterday wasn’t the moment
to ask me if it was real

moment to moment i gather
whispers i could not hear
to myself i’m still a stranger
turning laughter into tears

maybe this is me
a stranger for a while
but i’ll fill this empty heart
with lots of joy and smiles

maybe this is you
not a stranger but a friend
so look inside my heart
together we’ll find meaning at the bend
