Red Hibiscus
he’s not a hefty load
and i cherish it
he lingers on his own grip
acting as the captain of his ship
younger days that slipped away
different paths stood our ways
chosen one was quite a change
contrasting a rugged mountain range
he has chosen a concrete avenue
the extent and end he never knew
easy as it came to be
easy as the road stretched free
but the span of ease has to end that way
unpredictable, so was the time of the heyday
mother had to bid the world goodbye
life in existence money can’t buy
to me, he’s not a burden
as i walk my own way to life
he’s not heavy, he’s a light load
a brother, i can carry him at life’s crossroads…
One teacher's view of the world around him.
