candle…

smoke billows into the dark heaven
treating the silence so serene unbroken
stretching its line without a twisted bend
no wind to disturb its wealthy ascent

standing proudly like a gallant post
knows not its soul how to ebb its growth
burning life to liberty has time awakened
giving light to darkness its wick been inflamed

shimmering menial flame defiantly glow
closing its curtains of elongated shadow
blowing off its life just a little halfway
a second life to wait to be lit at any day...

    1. wow, you have a nice visual perception, different way to see things, that’s good. what i mean “to be lit” is quite literal here….to be lighted again, or to be used again because the candle wasn’t used up the first time it was lit…..hehe…the poet in you is manifesting in here… i’m waiting for your next post ! I hope it’s a short poem, too. thanks for the opinion. well taken. Be safe…

  1. What a beautiful post. And I don’t know if it was intentional, but your words match the picture, it’s the Mezuzah, the Jerusalem candle and the rimon fruit, which is the meaning of the continual flame of life.

    1. Thank you. I don’t know about that. Maybe it’s just a coincidence. I got the picture in Google…Mezuzah candle, so it’s from Jerusalem. Is the rimon fruit can be found in Jerusalem ,too? I’ve learned 2 things today. Thank you again, Efrona. Be safe.
